1960Medtronic signs licensing for pacemaker IP by Dr. Greatbatch and Dr. Chardack.3
1972VA Hospital of Buffalo New York was granted by the Atomic Energy Commission the ability to implant nuclear-powered pacemaker.4
1998Medtronic signs ventilator stockpile contract for Puritan Bennett brand portable ventilator.
2010Seven VA hospitals participated in a study for pallidal vs. subthalamic deep-brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease which was a study published in NEJM.5
2011The VA in Atlanta Georgia participated in the study Implantation Success and Infection in Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Device Procedures Utilizing an Antibacterial Envelope published in PACE.6
2013-2017Medtronic participates in three DARPA research projects focused on advancing knowledge in restoring neurologic function by developing technology to support study activities.
2017Medtronic awarded U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs national contracts for home telehealth technologies with three other vendors.7
2019Medtronic named a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Company.
2021Medtronic awarded the 2021 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.
