On Veterans Day, we honor the brave women and men who have served our nation. This day holds special meaning for us, as we have veterans among our colleagues, and their dedication inspires us daily. We also want to recognize the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. Nearly 200,000 service members do this every year, and it's a journey that demands our support and understanding. To shed light on this crucial topic, we invite you to watch the Ted Talk below, "How to Successfully Transition from Military to Civilian Life." It offers valuable insights into regaining identity, purpose, and a sense of belonging as a veteran.https://lnkd.in/gWiaCkG#VeteransDay #gratitude #civilianlife

As we prepare to enter into the official US Military Veteran’s Day, some helpful reminders:1) This day is for people who serveD, past tense. Important distinction. We are grateful for those currently serving but we only get one day of recognition. Please let us have 11/11. 🫡2) We are very much alive. Memorial Day is in May (Though our fallen are veterans too). ☺️ Important distinction. 3) We only get one day, sometimes two days, for mass veteran discounts. Please help us by not overcrowding places where we can enjoy saving a few pennies for one day only. 😘 important distinction. 4) An endorsem*nt not related to my employer: please check out Mission 22 and the awesomeness they are doing for veterans and their spouses. 5) Go Navy!!! Important distinction. #veteransday2023 #navyveteran #veteranpsa

So it’s approaching 3 years 😮 since I hung my uniform up, and in this time I’ve learned several things that I just was not able to realise while I was serving. Some of what I learned were “I told you so” moments from fellow Marines who left years before me but many other lessons were revelations that could only occur once I stepped into the “real world”. One thing, was to find something that feels as purposeful as serving in the Marines by comparing everything to the military is the ticket to nowhere.I’ve also come to realise that my experiences in the military should not be compared to or used as a guide for my future personal and professional career. There’s a reason the Royal Marines is a mystery to those who don’t serve and there’s also a really good reason we’d like to keep our private sector operating at a distance from what the military takes care of on a daily basis. So, in a nutshell, when you are planning your departure from the military, take time to realise things will be different and to not compare everything in the future to what you experienced in uniform. #military #veterans #leadership #future #successs

Special operations forces — such as Army Rangers, Green Berets and Navy SEALs— make up just 3% of the military. That’s because it takes highly skilled and adaptable individuals to carry out some of the military’s most challenging missions. But what happens when these individuals transition to civilian life? How do you match their skill level and training with a corporate career?Learn how our latest #PurplePaladin, 51 Vets, helps veterans of elite military communities translate their unique experiences into rewarding leadership positions in the private sector, helping them find meaningful careers that match their rare skill sets. https://gt-us.co/3U9axKc#TransitioningMilitary #SpecialForces #FinancialServices #PrivateEquity
